Summer Holidays!

We hope that everybody has a fantastic summer holiday! We are looking forward to second class!

First Class Visit Causey Farm

We had a very busy day today on our school tour to Causey Farm in Co. Meath. We travelled for one hour on a double decker bus. Our favourite activities were giant bubble blowing, feeding the animals, travelling in a hay trailer, bog jumping, welly throwing competitions as well as a tricky obstacle course. Healthy, fit and happy in Room 12

This January we are trying to exercise more often during school. Our class are taking part in G.A.A.  training every Friday. We are learning lots of new skills as well as having fun.

This is our class exercising to Bizzy Breaks. Ms Redmond puts on the music and we exercise every day. We feel good afterwards and it helps us to concentrate better in school.

We celebrated receiving our 6th Green Flag in December!

We worked very hard on the theme of Global Citizenship.

This month we looked at 2d and 3d shapes.

 

We found them all around our class room.

 

Then we used geo-boards to create designs.

We would like to wish our friends and family a happy and peaceful New Year.

Handa's Surprise!

We really enjoyed reading Handa's Surprise. We learned about different fruits and we wrote about our own surprise.

Look at some of our fruit baskets! We printed them with real fruit.

 

 

First class paid a visit to the staff room. We made rice Krispie buns and wrote about it. They were very tasty!



First Class Fashion Show!

We decided to create robot costumes for the annual fashion show. We used paper bags, plastic bottle tops, recycled ear phones, cable, plastic tubling , recycled foil and foam. Look at our creations!

 

 

 

September was such a busy month in First Class. Ms Redmond is our new teacher. We play in the big yard now at break time.

We are enjoying Math for Fun on Thursday Mornings. We think that Maths really is for fun!

We like to carry out science experiments in Room 12. This week we wanted to find out which absorbs water best- a paper towel, a j-cloth or a face-cloth. We discovered that a face cloth absorbs water best.
